Javier Alexis Gutiérrez Massó, professionally known as Caramelo de Cuba, is a Cuban pianist, percussionist, arranger, composer, and music producer. Born in Havana, Cuba, he later relocated to Madrid, Spain, where he became a pioneer in the fusion of flamenco jazz, Latin jazz, and traditional Cuban music.
Throughout his career, Caramelo de Cuba has collaborated with notable Spanish musicians to bridge the gap between Cuban rhythms and flamenco. His collaborative work includes projects with prominent artists such as Diego el Cigala, La Niña Pastori, and Enrique Morente.
His recorded work reflects these genre fusions, spanning Latin jazz, flamenco, and flamenco pop. In 2022, he released the single "With Soul and Tumbao," alongside the albums "En Madrid" and "Café Berlín Live Sessions, Vol. 1: Caramelo de Cuba."
