Gardi Vázquez Suárez, known professionally as Gardi, is a Cuban singer and composer born in Holguín, Cuba, in September 1973. His early interest in Cuban popular music led him to pursue formal vocal training, eventually studying at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. In 1998, he co-founded the university's Septeto Tradicional, with which he toured and participated in events such as the Festival de España dedicated to Cuban music.
In mid-2000, he established his own ensemble, Gardi y su Orquesta, to explore contemporary Cuban music styles like salsa, timba, son cubano, and ballads. He released his self-titled debut album, Gardi, in 2002. His discography continued with the album releases Lo Que Tú Querías in 2008 and Pega'o y No Se Me Quita in 2011. In the early 2020s, Gardi released a series of singles, including Todo Es Culpa Tuya, Ser Todo Para Ti, and Fuera de Control, followed by a remix of Fuera de Control in 2023.
