Raphy Solano is a Venezuelan salsa singer, bassist, and songwriter born on August 3, 1964, in Río Chico, Miranda. Raised in San Fernando Rey, he began his artistic interests at the Padre Zaldívar primary school in San Fernando del Guapo. At the age of 12, he entered the local music school Taller Libre to pursue formal music studies.
At age 21, Solano began working professionally as a singer and bassist, joining Juan Gómez's folkloric group Barlovento Nuestro. Around the same time, he performed with the group Salsa Joven, directed by tres player Edgar Baute, touring across Venezuela and promoting the regional music of the Barlovento region.
Solano has remained active as a recording artist with releases dating from 2016 to 2024. Following his 2016 single "Amor Celestial," he released "Motivos Perfectos" in 2022. In 2023, he released the full-length album "Me Toco Perderte" alongside several singles, including "Nuestra Musica Barlovento," "Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte," "Desesperado," "Solo Entregate," and "Me Enamore de Nuevo." In 2024, Solano released the single "Mi Conuquito."
