Nils Fischer & Timbazo is an international Latin music ensemble led by German percussionist Nils Fischer. Raised in a musical family in Bremen, Germany, Fischer began taking piano lessons at age ten before eventually focusing on percussion. The ensemble brings together an international roster of musicians from countries including Colombia, Cuba, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Curaçao, combining traditional salsa dura and Cuban timba with Latin jazz.
The group made its album debut in 2007 with "¡Gracias Joe Cuba!", establishing their signature sound of driving rhythm sections and a front line featuring three lead singers. They followed this release in 2017 with the album "Rumberos a Montón", which further solidified their reputation for high-energy live performances and complex percussion arrangements.
In 2024, the band released a series of singles, including "Como Soy", "Para Siempre Tenerte", and "Sobre la Hierba", culminating in the album "Otra Idea Más". This 2024 production features collaborations with notable guest artists such as Paquito D'Rivera, Issac Delgado, Alexander Abreu, Edwin Pérez, and Keisel Jiménez.
