
Son de Ebano Orquesta is a Colombian salsa and timba group founded in 2011 in the southern municipalities of Puerto Tejada and Guachené, in the Cauca department. The orchestra was established by vocalist, songwriter, and producer Ever Zapata, who serves as its director. The band is known for its raw salsa sound with a strong emphasis on brass arrangements. The group has performed several times at the Feria de Cali in Colombia.
After early work including the 2014 single Herencia Africana, the group released its second album, Soy Original, in 2019. This record featured tracks like Layka and Milly. In 2022, the orchestra released the album Esencia Musical, containing eight original tracks composed by Zapata. This release included singles such as El Negro Carabali, Hipocresia, and Devuelveme La Vida. Son de Ebano Orquesta has continued to record and release new music, including the 2025 single Con El Amor No Se Juega.
