
William Borrego Rodríguez is a Cuban singer, songwriter, trombonist, and arranger who performs son cubano and salsa. He began his formal musical education in Cuba at the Escuela Vocacional de Arte "Juan Pablo Duarte," where he specialized in choral conducting. He later continued his studies at the Escuela Nacional de Arte, specializing in the trombone. After graduating in 1994, he initiated his professional career with the group Melao Son.
Over the course of his career, Borrego has worked as a vocalist and collaborator with several notable ensembles. He has been a featured member of Conexión Cubana and The Sons Of Buena Vista, and has performed alongside Tommy Soto and the Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro.
As a solo artist, Borrego released the album "Acerca El Oído" in 2017. He subsequently released the romantic salsa single "Y quizás," highlighting his signature fusion of contemporary salsa with traditional Cuban elements.
