Maikel Dinza Hechavarría is a Cuban singer, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist born in Santiago de Cuba. Growing up in a musical family, he began formal music education at the age of seven, studying cello at the José María Heredia Vocational Art School. Although he completed his elementary studies in classical cello, Dinza also learned to play the double bass and piano, eventually transitioning into popular Cuban dance music. He is the director and lead vocalist of his backing orchestra, Soneros de la Juventud.
Dinza's work bridges traditional son cubano, salsa, and contemporary timba. His musical performances and arrangements have earned him four Cubadisco award nominations.
His discography includes the 2020 studio album "Manigua" and the single "Bailen Con la Punta del Pie", followed by "Hilo Rojo" in 2022. Between 2024 and 2026, he maintained a steady release schedule, producing singles such as "Soy El Son De La Montaña", "La magia del corazón", "Pintaré tu nombre", and "Nada", alongside the 2025 studio album "Destino" and the concert recording "Live in Varadero Josone Festival".
