Cecilia Noël is a Peruvian-born Latin music singer, songwriter, and arranger. In 1980, she relocated to New York City at the invitation of American jazz saxophonist Stan Getz. During her ten years in New York, Noël studied music and dance, worked as a session singer, and performed at venues such as the Rainbow Room. She also collaborated with salsa legend Willie Colón, recording on two of his albums, including Tiempo Pa' Matar.
Alongside her band, The Wild Clams, Noël developed a distinctive musical approach that blends salsa, soul, jazz, funk, and Afro-Cuban traditions. Her dynamic stage presence earned her the moniker of the "Latin Tina Turner." In her personal and professional life, Noël is married to Colin Hay, the lead singer of Men at Work, with whom she has regularly toured and recorded.
Her discography highlights a long-standing recording career, including the 2014 album Havana Rocks. She has continued to release music steadily in the 2020s, with singles such as "Famosa En El Barrio (Famous in My Neighborhood)" and "Fina Estampa" in 2021, and a series of subsequent releases including "Perro Callejero" in 2023, "Grito" and "Perdido" in 2024, and "Lola" in 2025.
