José Manuel Ruiz Molina, known professionally as Jota Ruiz, is a salsa singer, trumpeter, composer, and producer from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Before defining his path as a solo vocalist, Ruiz spent over 25 years working as an instrumentalist, establishing himself as a highly regarded trumpet player in the Puerto Rican salsa scene.
Ruiz made his debut as a solo front man with the release of his album "No Me Viste Venir" in 2025. The production showcases his transition from instrumentalist to singer and producer, combining original compositions with salsa-style covers of other songs.
In addition to his debut album, Ruiz's 2025 releases include the singles "Si Tu Entendieras" and "Trompeta En Mano," both of which highlight his dual focus on vocals and trumpet.
