Miles Peña, born José Antonio Peña in Havana, Cuba, began his artistic career as a child actor, appearing in the production 'Los Artífices' at the age of eight. He later pursued formal training at the Amadeo Roldán Music Academy. Peña eventually defected from Cuba and relocated to the Dominican Republic.
In 1993, Peña signed a recording contract with RMM Records and released his debut album. His early discography fell within the salsa romántica subgenre, though his style later integrated elements from contemporary Cuban groups like Charanga Habanera. He was also featured in the 22nd New York Salsa Festival in 1997.
Peña has continued to record and release music into the mid-2020s. His catalog of work includes singles such as 'Mis Labios Se Deshidratan' in 2024, followed by 'NADA', 'EL AMOR DE MI VIDA', and 'QUIEN SOY PARA TI' in 2025, and 'Mis Noches' in 2026.
