The Latin Brothers is a Colombian salsa orchestra formed in 1974 in Medellín under the Discos Fuentes record label. Founded by Antonio Fuentes, the group was conceived as a sister band to Fruko y sus Tesos to expand the label's salsa catalog and compete with rival groups of the era. Led by producer and musician Julio Ernesto Estrada Rincón, known as 'Fruko', the orchestra became recognized for its energetic salsa dura sound, which features prominent trombone arrangements.
The group's early lineup featured key figures of Colombian tropical music, including original lead singer Piper Pimienta and vocalist Joe Arroyo, who assisted in launching the orchestra. Over the subsequent decades, the band released a steady stream of recordings on Discos Fuentes, expanding their repertoire to include genres such as salsa, tropical music, and merengue. Key releases in their catalog include the albums 'Nuestra Salsa' (1992) and 'Ardiente y Caliente' (1998, later remastered in 2025).
The Latin Brothers have maintained an active presence into the 2020s. In addition to retrospective compilations such as the 'Discos Fuentes Collection' in 2015, the group has continued to issue modern singles, including 'No Hay Palabras' (2020), 'Aromas de Navidad' (2023), and 'Perdona Si Te Ofendo' (2025).
