Trina De Los Angeles Medina Sojo was born on February 28, 1960, in Caracas, Venezuela. Raised in a musical household, she is the daughter of the classical pianist Alfredo Sojo and the renowned Venezuelan salsa and son vocalist Canelita Medina (Rogelia Medina Romero). Medina established herself as a versatile Venezuelan salsa and son singer, songwriter, and music arranger.

Throughout her career, Medina has contributed to several film and television projects. Her performance of "Anda Y Camina" was featured on the soundtrack of the film "I Like It Like That." She also composed the musical scores for the 1999 film "At Midnight and a Half" (associated with her single "Quien Pise la Raya Pierde (A la Media Noche y Media)") and the 2007 Venezuelan film "Una abuela virgen." As an actress, she played the role of "Felicidad" in the 2004 RCTV drama "Negra consentida."
