Siguarajazz is a Colombian salsa and Latin jazz ensemble from Medellín, Colombia, originating in the neighborhood of Manrique Oriental. The group was founded and is directed by Juan Fernando García, also known as "Trucu." Blending traditional salsa brava, mambo, and Latin jazz, Siguarajazz is recognized for its "salsa de barrio" style, which incorporates classic Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as boogaloo, guaracha, guajira, and bolero.
The ensemble's discography includes albums such as "Está En Algo," "Manrique Mambo," "063," "Cruzando El Puente," and "Más Picante - Viajando En El Tiempo." In 2017, the group released the single "Fruku's Boogaloo," followed by the album "De Película" in 2018 and the single "Vino Amigo" in 2020.
In 2021, Siguarajazz celebrated its twentieth anniversary with the release of the album "Salsero 20 Aniversario." Around this milestone, the orchestra received an official recognition for its cultural contributions from the Medellín City Council.
