Obed Calixto is a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and arranger originally from Mexico City. With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, his work spans a diverse range of genres including jazz, contemporary Mexican popular music, and traditional regional Mexican styles such as corrido, mariachi, huapango, and son.
In addition to regional Mexican music, Calixto is active as a performer and songwriter of Afro-Caribbean styles, including salsa, mambo, bolero, and rumba. Working as a traditional session musician, his versatility enables him to navigate both acoustic folklore and tropical arrangements.
As a recording artist, Calixto's recent discography includes the 2024 singles De Ti and Cuarto 105. He followed these releases in 2025 with the singles Aperol Y Gin and Bellakah y Belicona.
