Erick Franchesky, born on May 30, 1962, in Naiguatá, La Guaira, Venezuela, is a prominent Venezuelan salsa vocalist often referred to as "El Ángel de la Salsa." Drawing early musical inspiration from legendary figures Oscar D'León and Héctor Lavoe, he began his career in local musical acts such as La Banda y su Salsa Joven before joining the orchestra of Natividad Martínez.
Franchesky went on to gain wider recognition as a member of the historic big band Billo's Caracas Boys. Following his tenure with the group, he embarked on a solo career, establishing himself as a notable voice in the salsa romántica subgenre. His catalog dates back to 1991, and he has maintained active production into the modern era.
In the 2020s, Franchesky released several singles in honor of Felipe Pirela, alongside standard tracks like "Aun Te Amo" (2020), "Me Faltó El Valor" (2022), and "De Repente" (2024). He also issued the album "La Carretera" in 2024 and followed with the single "Fantasía Herida" in 2025.
