Joseamid Torres Pagan, known professionally as Amid, is a Puerto Rican salsa singer born in Toa Alta on December 17. Raised in an environment where 1970s and 1980s salsa was frequently played by his family, he grew up with a deep connection to the genre. During his youth, he was heavily influenced by prominent salsa artists such as Ismael Rivera, Frankie Ruiz, Héctor Lavoe, Rubén Blades, and Cheo Feliciano.
Amid's music incorporates traditional Puerto Rican salsa rhythms with contemporary styles. He officially entered the recording scene in 2022 with the release of his single "Cuando Eramos Felices", which showcased his classic-influenced vocal delivery.
He followed his debut with the singles "Nunca DijÃste" in 2023 and "Pero Me Faltas Tú" in 2025, maintaining his active presence in the contemporary salsa genre.
