David Sanchez y Fuego Taibori is a contemporary salsa project fronted by lead vocalist David Sanchez and bandleader Luis Montanez. The group was formed to revive the sound and spirit of classic 1970s New York salsa, serving as a modern fusion of two late-1970s New York bands, Fuego 77 and Sonido Taibori.
In 2024, the group released the singles "Be Mine 2024" and "Be Mine (Be Mine Dub Mix)." The track "Be Mine" is a remake of a song originally released in 1977 by Fuego 77 on Alegre Records. Through these recordings, Sanchez and Montanez aim to present classic New York salsa arrangements with updated production.
