Sones de Oriente is a Cuban musical ensemble specializing in the traditional son cubano genre. The septet was founded in October 1938 in the city of Santiago de Cuba by tres player Delfino Puente. The group has focused on preserving and performing the son music native to the eastern region of Cuba, incorporating Afro-Caribbean elements and traditional Cuban music.
Under modern leadership, the ensemble is directed by Yuri Rivera, who performs as a tresero and cuatrista. The group's recorded discography includes the albums 'A Guarachar Me Voy (Remasterizado)' from 1989 and 'Arrea pa que llegue (Remasterizado)' from 2005. Sones de Oriente remained active into the 2020s, releasing the album 'No Te Dejes Quitar El Son' in 2019, followed by the 2022 singles 'Quién Te Dijo Que El Amor Se Va' and 'Todo Pal Saco'.
