Born in Bayamón and raised in Cataño, Puerto Rico, the sonero Luis A. Blasini (commonly known as "Blasini") began his musical career at the age of 15. In the early 1960s, his mother encouraged him to pursue music, leading him to sing with various local conjuntos and orchestras in Puerto Rico. In 1968, Blasini moved to New York, where he resided for a period with percussionist Little Ray Romero.
Now performing as Luis Blasini Y Iroko La Banda, the group's style encompasses latin jazz, son cubano, mambo, and timba. They established their presence in the contemporary latin music scene with the 2020 single "Plegaria Campesina," followed by "Te Desafio" and "Cuando Con la Percusion" in 2022.
The group became increasingly profile-oriented in 2023 with the release of the album "Un Beso Y Una Flor," alongside singles like "La Mula Tuerta" and "Sueño Navideño." In 2024, they released two full-length albums, "Marcando la Distancia" and "All Natural," in addition to the holiday single "La Parranda Encendida." The band continued their output into 2026 with the singles "La Chica Bailarina" and "Se Me Olvidó Tu Nombre."
