Orquesta La Libertad, also known as Grupo La Libertad, is a Mexican salsa group established in the early 1970s. The orchestra became prominent as an exponent of the "trombón mexicano" style, characterizing a sound rooted in 1970s salsa dura.
During their active years, the orchestra served as the backing group for several legendary Afro-Caribbean vocalists. Most notably, they accompanied elite soneros such as Celia Cruz and Ismael Miranda. Their recorded material includes historical tracks from the late 1970s, such as "Oye mi Dios" in 1978.
The group's catalog spans salsa and mambo performances, with their music continuing to be represented in digital releases, including a self-titled single in 2018.
