Los Hermanos Rosario is a Dominican merengue orchestra formed on May 1, 1978, in Higüey, Dominican Republic. The group was founded by brothers Toño, Pepe, Rafa, Tony, and Luis Rosario. Initially performing with 14 members, they gained local recognition within the Dominican Republic. On March 19, 1983, the group's musical director, Pepe Rosario, was killed following a performance in La Romana. Following his death, the remaining brothers continued the band.
The orchestra went on to achieve significant international success in the tropical music market. In 1993, they released the album "Los Mundialmente Sabrosos," featuring the single "Amor, Amor," which secured the top position on tropical charts across the United States, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela. Known primarily for their contribution to the merengue genre, the group has also received recognition in salsa categories later in their career.
Los Hermanos Rosario have maintained a consistent recording and performing career. Their catalog includes prominent tracks like "La Dueña del Swing," "Rompecintura," and "Moviendo la Cadera." In recent years, the group has continued to release new material, including the albums "Sin Fecha De Vencimiento" (2023) and "Infinito Positivo" (2025), alongside various updated singles and remixes.
