Rachel Therrien is a French-Canadian jazz trumpeter, composer, producer, and bandleader. Based between Montreal, New York City, and Havana, she specializes in blending contemporary jazz with Afro-Caribbean, Latin American, and Afro-diasporic rhythmic traditions. Her musical training includes studying in Cuba from 2008 to 2009 under prominent musicians such as Chappotin, Yasek Manzano, Gorge Rubio, Emilio Del Monte, and Robertico Garcia. Through her Latin Jazz Project, she performs original compositions and Afro-Latin classics, incorporating genres like danzón, rumba, chachacha, and salsa.
The three-time Grammy-nominated artist has maintained an active recording career since 2011. Her discography features the albums "Vena" (2020), "Mi Hogar" (2023), "CAPI" (2024), and "Mi Hogar II" (2025). She has also released several singles, including "Mojo" (2023), "Mambo “Chucho” Influenciado" (2024), "Back Home" (2025), and "Beauty Free" (2025).
