Throughout his career, Canales performed salsa, bolero, and son cubano, collaborating with musicians including trombonists John Toerres and Ricardo Martinez, conga player Antonio Tapia, and bongo player Louie Rivera. His recording career spans from 1975 to 2002, beginning with the albums "Sabor" (1975) and "Más Sabor" (1977), and later including titles such as "Ya Es Tiempo", "Live at Roseland", and "Lo Mejor de Angel Canales".
