Candela y Lo Demás is a Barcelona-based Latin music group founded and directed by percussionist Àlex Ventura. Ventura, an active figure in the Catalan Latin jazz and salsa scenes, previously collaborated with Cuban vocalist Lucrecia, Boogalizer, and the Barcelona Big Latin Band—with whom he recorded four albums and performed alongside guest artist Paquito D'Rivera. He established Candela y Lo Demás as a vehicle to explore Afro-Cuban rhythms and modern timba through original compositions.
The group debuted in 2020 with the release of the single "Pa'lante Yo Voy" and their first album, "Pa'lante", which showcased their signature blend of timba and Latin jazz. In 2021, they followed up with the single "Pacharán Pa'charlar".
In 2025, Candela y Lo Demás returned with new material, releasing the singles "Gentrificació" and "Cercanías", followed by their second full-length album, "OPUS 2".
