Yumiband (also known as La YumiBand) is a Barcelona-based musical group led by singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer Yumitus Hernández. The group is defined by its fusion of salsa with flamenco and Catalan rumba, a style they refer to as "salsa gitana" (gypsy salsa). Hernández, who began his professional career collaborating with the rumba artist Gato Pérez, established the project to blend traditional salsa structures with flamenco elements, such as the cajón and flamenco vocal styling.
The group's signature musical identity is represented in their show and release "Gipsy Salsa Train." Incorporating genres like timba, flamenco pop, and flamenco urbano, the project maintained a consistent release schedule between 2023 and 2025.
Their discography includes early singles such as "Para Bailar" in 2023, followed by a series of 2024 releases including "Te Vas de Marcha," "Bailen," "Gitaneando - Rumba," and "Achilipú." In 2025, the band continued its output with the singles "Amor a 440Hz," "BAMBOLAYÉ," "Esfúmate," and "Nada Contigo."
