Puerto Rican sonero and composer Juan Padín was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. At an early age, he relocated with his family to the Manuel A. Pérez residency in the Hato Rey area of San Juan. Padín began his formal recording career in the late 1980s, releasing the albums "Un Techo Cielo Azul" and "Ahora Sí !" under his name, alongside writing his own material.
In 2011, Padín released the album "Te Amo." Following a quiet period, he expanded his discography in 2023 with the album "Salsa Gorda" and the single "Dulce Como la Piña." He followed this with an active period in 2024, releasing the albums "Canciones Inolvidables" and "Unforgettable Songs," alongside several singles including "Algo de Mi," "Como Será," "Tú Me Has Levantado," "Al Compás," and "Me Enamore."
In 2025, Padín released the album "Volver a Empezar." He also published a digital edition of his track "El Revendon" in early 2025; the song was originally composed and recorded by Padín for an LP release in 1988.
