Wichy Camacho was born in Puerto Rico on January 11, 1956. Before dedicating himself to music, his primary passion was boxing. He later transitioned to musical performance and earned a reputation as 'la voz cristalina de la salsa' (the crystal-clear voice of salsa) due to his distinctive singing style. Over the course of his career, he became one of the most active and in-demand session vocalists in Puerto Rico, contributing to numerous recordings across salsa, Latin pop, and tropical music traditions.
In his solo career, Camacho has maintained a steady output of salsa recordings. His catalog includes the 2020 albums 'Amante Del Amor' and 'Aquel Amor Fatal,' alongside several singles from the same year such as 'Te Conquistaré,' 'Si Ella Supiera,' and 'Reconciliación.' His live performances have also been captured in later releases, including the 2024 album 'Collection (Live)' and the 2025 album 'Antón (En Vivo).'
