Elisabeth Rodríguez, known artistically as Elisabeth Timbal, is a Colombian percussionist, educator, and recording artist. Born in Cali, Colombia, she turned to music as a sanctuary at the age of twelve after the passing of her father. She eventually established her career in Cali before later relocating to Tampa, Florida.
Timbal began playing professionally at eighteen, launching her career with Orquesta Tumbadora. She was later invited to join the prominent all-female salsa group Orquesta Canela, with whom she performed for eleven years. During her tenure with Canela, she toured internationally and collaborated with various salsa musicians, experiences that shaped her style as a timbales player and instructor.
As a solo artist, Timbal has released a series of singles infusing salsa and traditional Latin rhythms. Her catalog includes her 2021 debut single "Rompe el Cuero," followed by "Ya No Te Quiero" and "Medley Cumbias Navideñas" in 2022. Between 2023 and 2024, she released several singles, including "La Reina del Timbal," "La Danza del Mono," "Homenaje al Gran Combo," "Movete," "Cumbia Sampuesana," "Pal Bailador," "La Cadenita," "Para No Verte Más," and "Cumbia Cienaguera." Today, she balances her recording career with her work as a music educator and online content creator.
