Orquesta Yare is a Panamanian salsa group formed on November 15, 2001, in Panama City. The orchestra was founded by pianist, composer, and producer Luis Thomas, alongside Alex Dolphy, Johnny Vergara, and Ernesto Howe, with the goal of presenting a new alternative within the national Panamanian salsa scene.
The group debuted in 2006 with the release of their first album, "En Tiempo de Salsa!". They followed up in 2014 with their second studio album, "Sonaron los Tambores", cementing their reputation within the contemporary salsa brava movement.
In the years following their second album, Orquesta Yare shifted focus to releasing individual singles. These releases include "Tú No Sabes" (2019), "La Conspiración (Dónde Estabas Tú)" (2020), and "La Vida" (2021). Celebrating their landmark anniversary, they released "20 Años: Seguimos la Tradición" in 2022, as well as the singles "No Se Imagina" and "Gracias por Participar" that same year. Their subsequent outputs include "Testamento" (2023), "Los Gustos" (2023), "Ciclos" (2024), and "Por Casualidad" (2026).
