Julio Albino, known artistically as "Junito," is a percussionist and bandleader born in New York in 1962. Inspired by legendary timbaleros such as Tito Puente and Orestes Vilató, Albino began his musical development at an early age. After relocating to Puerto Rico, he joined his school band in San Germán at the age of 13, performing with the group until his high school graduation. Over his career, Albino has performed as a percussionist alongside prominent salsa artists and orchestras, including Joe Quijano, Frankie Ruiz, Héctor Tricoche, Paquito Guzmán, and Marvin Santiago.
Albino eventually founded his own ensemble, Julio Albino y su Orquesta Secreto A Voces. The group has released a variety of salsa tracks, including the 2025 single "Pasaporte De Rumbero" and the 2026 single "Un Negro Sin Vacunar." Other releases in their catalog include the singles "Paila Pa Guarachero," "Mira Lo Que Viene Por Ahi," and "Edén Borinqueño."
