La Contundente is a Colombian salsa and son cubano orchestra established in Medellín in 2005. Founded by flautist Alexis Gaviria, the ensemble is characterized by its charanga-style orchestration, which blends traditional Afro-Cuban and Afro-Caribbean roots with contemporary Latin sounds.
The group made its recorded debut with the album Acharangando, followed by a self-titled sophomore release. Over the years, their music has earned airplay on notable tropical music stations. In 2021, they expanded their catalog with the album El Sonido Contundente, alongside the singles Laberinto and Ritmo Caliente.
In 2022, La Contundente released the single Soy Latino and their third full-length album, also titled Ritmo Caliente, continuing to develop their signature charanga flute-driven sound.
