Iris Sandra Cepeda was born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, in 1973. She began her musical training at the age of eight, studying piano at the Ernesto Lecuona Conservatory in her native city.
Throughout her career, Cepeda has collaborated with several high-profile Latin music artists. In 2000, she worked with flutist Danilo Lozano, performing on the track "Lagrimas Negras" for the album "Cuban L.A. Dos." She also contributed as a vocalist to major recording projects by Israel "Cachao" Lopez and Andy Garcia, appearing on the album "Cuba Linda" in 2000 and the double-Grammy-winning album "Ahora Si" in 2004. In addition to her performance career, Cepeda served for five years as a voice instructor in the Afro-Latin Music Department at California State University, Los Angeles.
As a solo artist, Cepeda has released multiple singles, including "Mi Ochun" in 2017 and "Vete Por Donde Viniste" in 2018. Her more recent work includes the single "I Miss You," which was followed by "I Miss You (Salsa Mix)" in 2025.
