Fanny Almenara, professionally known as "La Sonera del Callao," is a Peruvian salsa singer born in Callao, Peru. She is the daughter of Hector Almenara and Carmen Barreto, and is the second of nine siblings. Raised in a household where her father was an avid salsa record collector, Almenara was exposed to both salsa and traditional Peruvian music from a young age, leading her to pursue a singing career during her adolescence.
In her professional career, Almenara has continued to perform and record within the salsa genre. In 2024, she released the single "Amor de Mis Amores," a salsa-style cover recorded in collaboration with the Orquesta NG del Callao under the direction of Franco Crovetto.
