Israel Tanenbaum-Rivera is an American pianist, composer, arranger, music producer, and audio engineer known for his extensive work in salsa, Latin jazz, and tropical music. In 1986, he became the musical director for Roberto Roena. He later played a key role in expanding the reach of the Colombian salsa group Guayacán Orquesta into the United States and European markets. Serving as their pianist, producer, and arranger, Tanenbaum worked on major albums such as "Qué la Sangre Alborota" and "Sentimental de Punta a Punta," contributing to hit tracks like "Oiga Mire Vea" and "Te amo, te extraño."

Throughout his career, Tanenbaum has produced over 50 albums and participated in more than 100 recordings. His production catalog includes Cuban violinist Alfredo De La Fé's album "Con Toda la Salsa," for which Tanenbaum composed the Latin jazz track "Hacha y Machete"—a song that reached the top 10 on European jazz charts. He has also directed his own group, Israel Tanenbaum & The Latinbaum Jazz Ensemble.

In his solo career, Tanenbaum released the single "It Had to Be You" in 2020. This was followed by his 2023 album "Impressions," which was recorded in Colombia, California, and New Jersey. Co-produced with New York bassist John Benitez, the album showcases Tanenbaum's distinct blend of Latin jazz and tropical influences.
