
Susana Orta López is a Cuban vocalist born in Havana into a family of musicians. After completing her studies in music education in Cuba, she decided to pursue a professional musical career at the age of 18. Orta later relocated to Switzerland, where she has established her career, performing traditional Cuban music, Latin jazz, and contemporary timba. Among her projects, she has performed as a lead vocalist for the group La Orquesta Siga Volando and collaborated with the Swiss-based Nosh Quartett.
Since 2020, Orta has released a steady succession of singles and albums, frequently partnering with Cuban producer and arranger Luisito Aballe. Aballe composed and arranged her 2023 single "Yo soy la negra tumbao" and produced her 2024 single "Tiempo," which also featured Alberto Castellón (AL*B). Her discography also features the singles "Nana a Moreno" (2021) and "Vienes o vas" (2022), the 2023 album "Trova con tango," and her 2024 projects "Heredad" and "Heredad Live."
