Héctor Olmo is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, producer, and Christian minister from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He is the founder and director of the Christian salsa orchestra Al Compás de Cristo. Throughout his career in tropical and salsa music, Olmo has maintained a dual artistic focus, releasing works that cross between religious themes and romantic salsa.
Olmo's recorded catalog includes a consistent series of singles. In 2020, he released "La Felicidad," "Café Para Dos," and "Testigo Soy," followed by "Pálante Guerrero" and "Si Es Contigo" in 2021. Subsequent releases included "Sandalias Nuevas" in 2022 and "Mi Amigo en el Cielo" in 2023. His 2024 single, "Así es el amor," was composed by Francisco "Chalina" Alvarado of Ponce and arranged by Venezuelan musician Ronald Quiroz. He also released "Si a veces hablo de tí" that same year.
His recent work includes the 2025 singles "No Puede Ser Cualquiera" and "Quiero Tenerte," a romantic salsa track exploring themes of distance and memory. He continued his release schedule into 2026 with the single "Quien Dijo."
