Amílcar Jesús Boscán Parra, known artistically as Amílcar Boscán, is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter, lawyer, and salsa musician. Born on May 17, 1960, in Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela, he first established his musical career as a key vocalist for the Venezuelan group Guaco. Boscán spent five years with the Maracaibo-based band, participating from 1979 onwards before transitioning to a solo career.
As a solo salsa artist, his discography includes early releases such as the album "Solamente Amilcar" and appearances on collections like "Los grandes de la Salsa." His solo recordings officially date back in cataloged releases to 1985, showcasing his development as a prominent voice in the Venezuelan salsa scene.
In the 2020s, Boscán has maintained a prolific release schedule. His recent recordings include the singles "Amor De Locos" and "Todo Tiene Su Final (Nueva Versión)" in 2022, "Letanía Del Desamor" and "El Amor y La Envidia" in 2023, and "Mi Arrepentimiento" in 2024. In 2025, he released the album "Precioso Tiempo" alongside singles like "Somos Salseros" and "Dime," followed by the 2026 single "El Que La Hace La Paga."
