Miguel De Jesús Pérez, known professionally as Miguelito El Asunto and occasionally referred to as "El Salsero de Quisqueya," was born on June 2, 1968, in Barahona, Dominican Republic. He developed a passion for salsa during his childhood. By the 2000s, he was active in Florida, where he performed as a backing vocalist for several prominent salsa figures during their live appearances, including Tito Gómez, Cano Estremera, Joe Arroyo, Larry Harlow, Alberto Barros, and Ángel Canales.
Performing alongside his orchestra, Salsa Caliente, Miguelito El Asunto has maintained a steady output of recorded material. His discography includes the 2020 studio album "Un Poquito de Jabón" and the singles "El Principal" and "Otra Navidad." In 2021, he released the live album "Miguelito El Asunto En Concierto" alongside singles like "Otoño Tropical" and a cover version of "Como La Flor (Radio Edit)."
He continued releasing music into the mid-2020s, with singles such as "Por Como Van Las Cosas" and "La Mitad" in 2022, "Día Hermoso" in 2023, and "El Malo de la Película" in 2024. His subsequent work includes the 2025 single "Finjamos Que El Amor Existe" and the 2026 album "Salsa Plus."
