La Son Charanga is a Colombian musical group originating from Cali. The project was initially created as a studio endeavor to address demand among communities from the French West Indies and Africa—particularly Senegal—residing in France. The collaboration was initiated when Hector F. Herrera G., executive producer and CEO of Latin Music Europe, met with the producer and musical director Juan Diego Galé.
The music of La Son Charanga spans genres such as salsa, son cubano, mambo, and timba. The group made its catalog debut in 2011 with the release of two albums, "Descarga y Tumbao" and "Salsa y Charanga". The group remained active into the following decades, releasing the single "De Nuevo" in 2025.
