Raysel Pérez Bosch, known artistically as Raysel, was born on September 22, 1979, in Santiago de Cuba. Heavily influenced by the Cuban feeling movement and La Nueva Trova, his musical style blends traditional Cuban elements with modern sounds across the trova and son cubano genres. He is a recipient of the María Grever Fellowship for composition, awarded by the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), and has established a presence in Veracruz, Mexico.
His recording career includes several notable independent releases. In 2020, he released the single Yo Te Cuidaré and his second self-authored album, Cerrando Ciclos, which contains 12 original compositions. He followed this in 2023 with a series of singles, including Deseo, Lo que podemos arreglar, Eres, El Beso, and El Vendedor de Sueños.
In early 2024, Raysel released the album Nosotros, which featured the Cuban trova lead single Para sentirme mejor. He expanded his discography with the single Como Pica later that year, the 2025 album Versiones, and the single La Fiesta, a collaborative release with the Shakaito Orquesta. In 2026, he released the single SOS.
