
Joseph Torres y Orquesta Curaré is a salsa band formed in 2010 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, by conguero Joseph Torres. Comprising eight to eleven musicians and utilizing a trombone-driven horn section, the group originally established itself performing classic and contemporary salsa covers at various regional venues and events. The ensemble focuses on a salsa gorda style tailored for social dancers.
After years of live performances, the band began releasing recorded singles. In 2021, they released "Vellonera," which featured Izis "La Enfermera de la Salsa." They followed with a pair of singles in 2023, "Yo Te Curaré" and "Empezar de Nuevo," both featuring guest vocals by David Atanacio.
In 2024, Joseph Torres y Orquesta Curaré released the single "Un Muy Buen Día" featuring vocalist Ricky Luis, followed by the single "La Vida Es Bella" later that same year.
