Ricardo "Rico" Walker Del Valle, known professionally as Rico Walker, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 6, 1960. A Puerto Rican sonero, Walker began his professional singing career in 1988, initially gaining recognition as a vocalist for the orchestra of Orlando Pabellón.
Throughout his career, Walker has performed with several notable salsa ensembles. He has worked as a vocalist for Willy Rosario's orchestra and Don Perignon's Orquesta La Puertorriqueña. Often referred to as "El Patriota de la Salsa," he is recognized for his command of the clave, the art of soneo, and rhythmic timing.
Under the management of Felix "Rayito" López, Walker established himself as a solo artist. In 2022, he released his solo album, "Con Sabor y Cadencia," alongside the single "El Tumbao de la Timba."
