Irving Flores is a Mexican-American pianist, composer, arranger, and producer born in Veracruz, Mexico. Raised in an environment rich with Afro-Cuban rhythms and big band music, he began studying music at age five under the guidance of his father, a big band musician, and started playing the organ at age six. He was also heavily influenced by his grandmother's collection of danzón records during his upbringing.
Throughout his career, Flores has worked extensively as an arranger and performer. He has orchestrated music for prominent Latin artists, including Luis Miguel, Armando Manzanero, Willie Colón, Eugenia León, and Tania Libertad. Additionally, he has served as the pianist for the Gilbert Castellanos New Latin Jazz Quintet.
Flores's discography highlights his work in the Latin jazz and cool jazz genres. His releases include the albums "Recuerdos" (2010) and "American Influence" (2013). In 2025, he released the single and album "Armando Mi Conga," which continues his integration of Afro-Cuban styles and jazz.
