David Millan is a New York-born salsa singer of Puerto Rican descent. Raised in the Bronx, Millan began his musical training at an early age by singing and playing the trumpet in church and school bands. Growing up in New York City, he was exposed to a diverse blend of genres, finding inspiration in rock, soul, R&B, and disco, alongside the emerging salsa explosion of the Fania Records era.
In his recording career, Millan has blended these distinct sounds. He collaborated with music arranger Adan Perez on the project "Run 4 Cover / Tributo en Salsa a los Clásicos Del Rock," which set classic rock tracks to contemporary salsa arrangements and featured Millan on lead vocals. This project aligns with his 2020 single release, a salsa cover of the rock classic "Long Train Runnin'."
Millan's catalog features multiple independent releases, beginning with his 2014 album "Naci Cantante" and the single "Permiteme." He has also released the album "Soy un Hombre Diferente," followed by the singles "Llename de Ti" in 2022 and "Abrire La Puerta" in 2025.
