Wilson Acevedo is a Colombian composer, arranger, timbalero, and bandleader born in Medellín and based in Toronto, Canada. Since relocating to Canada, Acevedo has been a key figure in the country's Latin music scene. Before launching his solo projects, he spent four years leading the group Vibrason, which later led him to establish the Toronto-based salsa ensemble Caché in 2002, serving as its producer and musical director.
Acevedo made his solo recording debut in 2012 with the album En Trance. Blending mambo, Latin jazz, salsa, and cha-cha-cha, he has frequently recorded and performed under his project name Jazzmeetssalsa. His subsequent releases include the albums Heavy Early Music, Vol. 1 and Quiero Salsa Con Estilo in 2015, as well as the 2016 single Mambo En Pamplona. In 2021, he returned with the album Buscando la Salsa, recorded with Jazzmeetssalsa.
