Jazzmeetssalsa is a Latin music project led by Colombian composer, arranger, and timbalero Wilson Acevedo. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Acevedo relocated to Toronto, Canada, where he became an active contributor to the local Latin music scene. Prior to launching Jazzmeetssalsa, Acevedo formed the ensemble Caché in 2002.
The project officially debuted in 2012 with the release of the album En Trance. Integrating genres such as salsa, latin jazz, mambo, and cha cha cha, the project serves as a showcase for Acevedo's arrangements and compositions.
Jazzmeetssalsa followed its debut with the album Quiero Salsa Con Estilo in 2015. In 2021, the group released its third album, Buscando la Salsa, continuing the project's focus on blending traditional salsa with jazz elements.
