
Son de Tikizia is a salsa and Latin jazz orchestra from Costa Rica, founded in 2004 by Walter Flores, a five-time Grammy winner, and Alfredo Poveda. The ensemble has established itself as a prominent salsa group in Central America, earning two Latin Grammy nominations during its career.
Throughout their history, Son de Tikizia has performed alongside major figures in Latin music, including Rubén Blades, Cheo Feliciano, Maelo Ruiz, and Jimmy Bosch. In May 2024, the orchestra celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Their catalog includes albums such as Salsa Retro (2010), Villancicos en Salsa (2012), Son de Tikizia: Exitos (2015), and Humberto Vargas (2016). The group has remained active with contemporary single releases, including Luces Que Bailan and Felicidad in 2024, followed by Hace Calor, Last Sad Love Song, and Última triste canción de amor in 2025.
