Cali Big Band is a Colombian musical ensemble directed by composer, arranger, and trumpeter José Aguirre, who is also recognized as the musical director and producer of the salsa group Grupo Niche. Established as a conceptual project, the orchestra consists of 23 musicians along with special guest performers tailored to each show. The band's style features a mix of big band brass arrangements, salsa, bolero, and Latin jazz.
The group's discography includes the 2018 single "El bolero en todas sus formas." In 2021, they expanded their repertoire with the singles "Quién Dijo" and "Uno Mismo," as well as the full-length album "Gente Con Alma." Cali Big Band has continued to release music regularly, including the 2022 single "Los Hombres Sí Pueden Llorar" and the 2025 single "JACARANDOSA," the latter of which features guest vocals by veteran salsa singer Tito Nieves.
