Elio Pacheco is a Venezuelan percussionist and salsa musician, widely recognized as a founding member of the influential salsa orchestra La Dimensión Latina. Alongside co-founders like Oscar D'León, Pacheco helped of establish the group's foundational sound. During his tenure, he toured internationally, performing in countries such as the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Panama, Colombia, and Mexico, before deciding to leave the group in 1977.
Following his departure from La Dimensión Latina, Pacheco founded and led multiple projects, most notably La Mafia Latina, as well as La Charanga La Magnífica and Los Generales de la Salsa. Under his own leadership, he released the album "Elio Pacheco Y Su Mafia" in 1979, followed by "La Mafia Latina Y Elio Pacheco" in 1980.
With a career as a bandleader, percussionist, and music producer spanning several decades, Pacheco has remained active in the Latin music industry. His prolonged career includes recent recordings, such as the 2025 single "Baila Con Mi Ritmo".
