Joseito Rodríguez was born on July 4, 1949, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is the original timbalero for the Venezuelan salsa band La Dimensión Latina.
In 2005, due to disputes over the trademark rights of the group's name, Rodríguez and other members began performing under the name Los Generales de la Salsa. As a solo artist, he released the single "Baila Con Mi Ritmo" in 2025.
